It’s All In The Detail

When the Client is also the Architect we know we are in for a good project! Pushing the building envelope to the boundary, the design makes maximum use of space and light and the end result is a home that is both stunningly beautiful and really comfortable to live in. The extension is modern, but as it is tucked away behind the period façade, the charming streetscape has been retained.

Concrete floors are a key feature of both aesthetics and comfort hiding hydronic heating throught the rear extension. The raked ceiling line adds volume to the space and, paired with oversized external doors and highlight windows above created a wonderful open plan living space.

Behind a wall-finish cavity slider, the bathroom has been cleverly designed to work with the odd fireplace void and material design brings the space into unison. The continuous shower shelf acts as a break in tiles brining the floor line up the walls for the illusion of space. Gold tapware sets off the bathroom with timeless class. A central skylight and shower window bring warming natural light into this room.
